Glenavy 1-8 Rasharkin 4-7
Rashakin U12 footballers moved up to second place in the league with a fine victory away to Glenavy. The St Marys lads took control of the game right from the throw in with Oisin Casey driving hard at the home defence and firing the ball to the net. Points from Casey, Doherty, O’Boyle and McMullan extended the Rashakin lead before Glenavy got their first score through Hamill after fifteen minutes. Accurate passing and quick interplay was the blue print for Rasharkin and before the break they added another goal, this one from JP Hasson, and another point from Dan Doherty, while Glenavy struggled to stay in touch, with Hamill adding two more singles.

Glenavy come out with much more purpose in the second half and a looping high ball found its way into the Rasharkin net to give the home side renewed vigour. The Glenavy revival continued and two further points brought them right back into the game, but the visitors responded with points from Casey and Doherty and when Finn Kelly drove a shot to the net the game was as good as over. Rasharkin added another goal via Dan Doherty. Glenavy finished with a flourish and put over three points near the end but Rasharkin were always in control of this game. Rasharkin now move ahead of Glenavy into second place in the league with only one game remaining. Final Score Glenavy 1-8 Rasharkin 4-7.
