Glenariffe Oisins booked their place in the final of the McMullan Cup with a 16 point win over Cushendall in Sunday’s semi-final in Waterfoot. Brogan O’Connor started the run with a goal in four minutes and when right half forward Niall McGarel grabbed another goal a minute later they were in control. Points followed from Patrick McIlwaine, Odhran GIllan, Brogan O’Connor and McGarel (2) to go 2-6 to 0-1 ahead, and though Padraig McKillop pulled a point back on 22 minutes, four more points from the home side’s Brogan O’Connor, Nial McGarel (2) Aidan McSparran had them 2-10 to 0-2 ahead at half time.
The third quarter was more of the same and McGarel hit some great points, while Padraig McKillop and Odhran McCambride responded for Cushendall.
