Antrim Juniors ease past Offaly in Div 3B

ANTRIM picked up their second victory in as many weeks in Division 3B, beating Offaly in the opening game in Banagher with ease.

Offaly scored the opening point in the second minute, but everything went downhill for the home side after that. By the 10th minute they were 0-4 to 0-1 down following points from Bríd Magill, Orlagh Laverty and Dervla Cosgrove (two frees).

There was a lull in the scoring then, but Antrim finished the half strongly with a goal and two points, the goal scored by NiamhNeeson.

In the second minute of the second half, Ellen McIntosh scored Antrim’s second goal and added a third four minutes later to make it 2-4 in the last half-hour.

There was also a late goal for substitute Maria Bakewell as Antrim hammered their advantage home.

In the other game in the group, Clare easily defeated Limerick and are next on Antrim’s radar with a top of the table clash in Dunsilly on St Patrick’s Day.
