Kickham’s dancing goes ‘Strictly’ off the scale

The Strictly Creggan 2019 Winners, Marie McAteer and Justin Keane

On Saturday evening, Kickham’s Creggan put on a fantastic show in front of over 400 people in the St MacNissi’s Parish Centre in Randalstown.

Terry Robb, the compère on the night, entertained and built the anticipation amongst the lively crowd prior to the show and between each routine

The theme of the show was the ‘Evolution Of Dance’ and all eight couples danced from different eras. After each dance, the couples were given the judges verdicts and scores before exiting the stage back to the green room.

Terry and judges preformed a dance after being welcomed on the stage. The judges were: Ruby Marie Rice, Tony McCollum, Susan Rankin and Francis Butler.

Following each routine, it was then all down to the audience on who would be crowned Strictly Creggan 2019 Winners. The winner was then decided based on the couple who raised the most money.

The verdict was in and Strictly Creggan 2019 Winners were Marie McAteer and Justin Keane who stole the show with their 1990’s lively routine to Run DMC track ‘Tricky’. However, nothing seemed ‘Tricky’ when both Justin and Marie lifted the Strictly glitterball to end the show before the disco.

Kickhams GAC Creggan organising committee thanked everyone who made the show an unbelievable success with a special mention of thanks to each dancer and the show choreographer Maeve Johnston, from Centre Stage Performance Co. Her hard work, planning and dedication over the past ten weeks made the show one of Creggan’s greatest fundraising events to date.

The event sponsors on the night were:

Meraki Creggan, Bodylogic, Natural Decking, Sheridan Transport, Breathe Sports, Damian McCann Cars & Vans, McCann Mechanical, Nurture Aesthetics, Ulster Bank, Marrions Bar and Off Sales, P&S Plastering, The Lab, D Engineering, Boyd’s Garage, Airfield Swim Academy, JM Wholesale, Springwell Construction, McLernon Poultry, Red Thread Bespoke Fascinators, The Elk, BC Tiling, Centra Toome, Ben’s Ice Cream and Dougan’s Furniture.
