Minor Football Championship Preview

Cathal McOscar Photography

The second rounds of the Minor football championship are scheduled for Thursday evening and there are more than a few match ups which catch the eye, none more so than the pairing of St Brigid’s and Rossa.

The Biddies had a huge win over the combination side Corpus Christi Gaels while Rossa were held to a draw by the visiting Paddies and this looks a good one.

St Gall’s also recorded a big win over the visiting St Enda’s but they will find their trip to the Bear Pit to face Sarsfield’s a tougher assignment.

Both this duo are contenders for outright success in the under-18 grade and this one will be viewed with interest in section 1.

Reigning county champions Cargin opened account with a win at Aldergrove and they will be hoping to pass another stern test when Aghagallon visit Toome in Section 2.

Aghagallon, having lost out by a couple of points to the visiting All Saint’s will travel hoping to get their winning show on the road.

Ballymena entertain Moneyglass this time and will hope to continue in winning ways.

In the B section Creggan and Glenravel look major contenders and the pairing of this duo will provoke interest aplenty and may well give a clue as to the destination of the silverware.

Both enjoyed positive returns from their respective outings in the opening round with Creggan recording a big win at Rasharkin while Glenravel finished ahead of the visiting Casement’s.
