Glenavy 1-14 Aldergrove 1-11
There is nothing is sport like the local derby and on Sunday evening Glenavy came out on top in their battle with neighbours Aldergrove at Chapel Hill. In a highly entertaining game there was little between two evenly matched sides and at half time there was just a point seperated them with the home team edging it by 1-7 to 1-6, Glenavy’s goal coming from Megan McGarry while Nikki Jones got the Aldergrove major.
The second half was much the same, with the scoring power of Graine McLaughlin keeping the Glenavy girls ahead despite the great efforts of Jones and Caitlin Taggart.
Graine McLaughlin, Annie Mulholland and Natalie O’Neill caught the eye for the Chapel Hill girls while Nicole Jones and the Taggart twins were best for the visitors
