Rory Morgan R.I.P.

The Saffron Gael is saddened to hear of the death of former Tir na nOg player, Rory Morgan (33), from Randalstown, who was killed on April 9 in San Francisco.

A former hurler and footballer for Tír na nÓg in Randalstown, he had moved to San Francisco 12 years ago, where his brother, Paul lives.

Mr Morgan worked in construction and removals. He was married to Miranda and the couple had two young children, Ava (6) and Breanna (4).

The Tir na nOg club paid tribute to their former player on facebook: It read, “Tir na nOg are saddened to hear of Rory Morgan’s death. He represented our club at under age level, excelling in both Gaelic football and hurling”

The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust assisted the family in bringing home Mr Morgan’s remains, which arrived in Dublin yesterday.

His funeral will take place in Randalstown today (Saturday).

We at the Saffron Gael offer our sincere sympathy to his wife and family and to the Tir na nOg club.

Our Lady of the Gael pray for him
