St Jospeh’s Glenavy juvenile awards and fun night

St Clare’s Hall hosted the end of year celebration of the Juvenile footballers from St Joseph’s Glenavy on Friday night.

120 players from the P2/P3, P4/P5, P6/P7 boys and U8 & U10 girls academy teams were welcomed and entertained on the night by MC Jonny Rogan. A selection of parents and players representing each group took part in a game show contest to win enough points for their teammates to qualify for pizzas. The kids all joined in with very vocal support for their mates and the result was that the kids won enough points and with great celebration pizzas were delivered. Jonny Rogan then introduced Club Chairman Joe O’Boyle, who spoke to thank all the parents and coaches for their effort and support all year. Joe also congratulated all the kids for all their achievements, remarking how encouraging it has been to see the numbers each week growing and reminding them that they are the lifeblood and the future of the Club. Each team was then presented with certificates of achievement and medals, before enjoying a feast of pizzas from The Chip Factory. Fed and happy, the kids then danced the night away with DJ Davy McBride on hand to keep the floor full until the end. A great evening of fun and celebration ended with some jigs and reels which brought the night to a close. Many thanks to all those who helped with organising and assisting on the night. It was a full team effort indeed. Special thanks to Jonny Rogan for hosting the night and to Davy McBride for entertaining and keeping the music flowing all evening. Also, a word of thanks to our local Club sponsor, The Chip Factory, for providing and delivering all the pizzas.
