What a week it has been for Moneynick Primary school with success on and off the field for the school.
On Wednesday their successful South West indoor 5s girls winning team competed in the all county finals at Tir na nOg.
Coming up against schools who were much bigger in size in the form of St Joseph’s Dunloy and St Anne’s Belfast, the girls from Moneynick were undaunted and won both games to capture the county crown. They will now go forward to represent Antrim in the Ulster finals. An indication of the club links the school has can be seen in this team, a squad of 6 players could be broken down to 2 girls each from Cargin, Moneyglass and Creggan. A wonderful story and good luck in Ulster.
Fast forward two days and more success was in store for the school. They were awarded 2nd place in the Promotion of the Cumman na mBunscol Gaelic Games and Culture section and a further 2nd place in the School of the Year Category last night at the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Award Ceremony in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
Well done from everyone at Aontroma Cumann na mBunscol.
