All Saints collect the points against St Pauls

                                                ACFL Division 1

All Saints 2-14 St Pauls 2-07

All Saints continued their great run of six wins out of seven starts in Div 1 of the ACFL with a comfortable victory over St Paul’s at Ballymena on Wednesday night.

In what was a scrappy game that never really ignited.St Pauls were first off the mark with a goal from Caoimhin Duffy, followed by a two pointer from Patrick Crawford.

At this stage All Saints started to get their act together with 6 consecutive scores before Duffy replied with St Pauls third and final score of the opening half. Two further points for All Saints coming from McReynolds in the middle of the park and the trusty foot of goalkeeper Connor Brennan knocking over a point from a free.

St Pauls were always competitive in the first half but were let down by their shooting as they converted only 3 out of 10 attempts, while All Saints were more productive in taking 7 scores out of 10 attempts.

Half-Time Score: All Saints 2-05 St Pauls 1-03

While All Saints were always in control, St Pauls put increased pressure on the home side in the second half without really threatening to cause an upset. Patrick Crawford took the fight to All Saints slotting over 4 points, including a 2 pointer, aided and abetted by a great goal from Garret Cowan.

Wayward shooting was again the downfall for St Pauls with only 4 scores from 10 second half attempts, while All Saints took 8 scores from 14 attempts.

While finishing with a 7 point win, All Saints will know that St Pauls were a more dangerous opponent than the story told by the scoreboard, but delighted to get a further two points on the board that sees them sitting in second place at this stage of the season.
