After a dissapointing minor game in which Dunloy were just too strong for Naomh Padraig the hurling fans who flocked in their thousands to Ballycastle, were hoping for something more exciting in the senior decider. The first half was dour and dogged with the Ruairi Og holding sway as both teams battled for control. When they went in leading by 0-7 to 0-3 at the break the Cushendall fans must have felt they would push on in the second half but they were hit with a Cuchullains avalanche after the break as Dunloy young guns found the form that they have been displaying all season to drive their team home and spark scence of celebrations that will live long in the memory for all Cuchullains fans.
