St. Paul’s 2-7 Tir na nOg 0-4
St Paul’s and Tir Na nOg played out an entertaining encounter at a blustery Hightown on Sunday in the U14 All county football ‘B’ final. The strong breeze greatly influenced the match and St Paul’s made the most of the advantage in the first half which they controlled for large parts and went into the break 2-3 o 0-0 at half time.
The second half was a different game with Tir Na nOg putting the St Paul’s defence under great pressure with the wind at their backs. The St Paul’s backline had to stand firm and showed great discipline in their resilient defending whilst their forwards took advantage of the few chances they got to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Both teams displayed a great attitude and competitive edge with St Paul’s winning 2-7 to 0-4.
