Patsy McCann celebrates Cargin’s SFC final triumphs over St. Gall’s in Ahoghill in 2015 and again at Corrigan Park in 2016
Erin’s Own, Cargin held a special celebration in their Toome clubrooms on Saturday night to celebrate the 70th birthday of their best known and loved son. Patsy Mc Cann is synonymous with Cargin and where you see the Erin’s Own men take the field he is always in the vanguard leading his beloved team onto the field with his ‘medical supplies’ across his shoulders.
Patsy, as he is known has served Cargin for nearing 60 years and always loyal to the cause he has always endured defeat without complaint, and celebrated victory to the utmost.
He has carried the ‘bag’ to triumphs in senior, junior, intermediate, under-21, and minor championship successes and no doubt few in the county can boast as many medals as Patsy has in his collection.
The Cargin men are about to get season 2018 on the way and the longest serving member of the team will undoubtedly be on board for another campaign and Patsy Mc Cann will continue to serve with the utmost pride in the ‘greens’ and win lose or draw he will endure without hint of complaint.
Patsy McCann celebrates his 70th birthday with family and friends at Erin’s Own GAC on Saturday night.
