Reserve Hurling League – Monday May 17
Dunloy 1-26 Lavey 1-8
Dunloy ran out comfortable winners over Lavey on Monday evening as they cruised to an 18 point win.
It was a commanding performance from the Cuchullains who hit an impressive 1-22 from play with 10 different scorers over the hour. Padraig McGilligan top scored with 1-4 while Ryan McFarland and Barry Scott excelled at either end of the pitch for the home side. ‘Chipper’ with 0-6 and Scott put in a commanding performance on the edge of his own square.
Lavey struggled with the fluency of the Cuchullains but managed to score the opening goal of the contest. Odhran Waldron reaping the rewards of a delightful flick from Kelvin Gates but the Cuchullains hit back after the water break. McGilligan’s goal coming after some delightful work by McFarland down the right hand side to carve open the Lavey defence. Dunloy controlled the time that remained in the first half to lead by eight at the short whistle.
Dunloy continued to punish any Lavey errors in the second half with Chipper, Oisin Elliott and Liam McCann all accurate. Shane Dooey and Kevin McQuillan added scores coming off the bench for the Cuchullains as they saw out the second half with little trouble.
