The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust will be this year’s beneficiaries from All Saints GAC annual Spinathon at the bandstand in Ballymena on Saturday. A large number of club members and volunteers took part in the Spinathon or collected for the charity and the Ballymena public were generous in their donations.
Organised as part of the ever popular Saints & Slimmers programme the 10 teams involved assembled across the day from 10.00am to 3.30pm to raise money for this year’s nominated good cause – the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT).
Every GAA club in County Antrim was shocked by the untimely passing of young Connor Marron from the Casements club in Portglenone. Being a South West lad and attending school locally Connor had many close friends in All Saints so supporting KBRT was an easy decision to make for the Ballymena members.
Peddling for points was also the name of the game as an overall Saints & Slimmers winning team will be announced at the Finale Night later this month though this is very much secondary to the efforts to raise vital funds for the valuable work KBRT provides. The total amount raised will be revealed on the night when a presentation to the charity will take place.
