Glenariffe Oisins 1-8 Loughgiel Shamrocks 2-20
Loughgiel travelled to Glenariffe on Thursday evening and beat the Oisins by 2-20 to 1-8 in the semi-final of the Senior Feis Cup. The Shamrocks controlled the game form the start and were three up after five minutes with points from Paul Boyle Rian McMullan and Donal McKinley. Dan McKillop and Seanine McIntosh came back with points for Glenariffe but two form Paul Boyle and one from John Frances Connolly pulled Loughgiel clear and by the break they held a 1-11 to 0-4, the goal coming from corner forward Rian Bubbles McMullan
The Shamrocks stretched the lead to twelve early in the second half before Mickey Gettins and Paul McDonnell pulled a couple back for the Oisins. A run of six points without reply put Loughgiel in total command and even an goal by the Shamrocks didn’t really lift them. Oliver Kearney grabbed a couple for Glenariffe but Loughiel stretched the lead even further and by the end were good value for their fifteen point lead.
