Antrim U15 Hurling League – Division 1
St Paul’s 4-7 Ballycastle 5-14
Ballycastle came from four points down at half time to beat St Paul’s in Tuesday evening’s Under 15 League game at Shaw’s Road, Belfast.
With the breeze behind them in the opening half St Paul’s had the upper hand and a goal from corner forward Brendan McMorrow and two from centre forward Sean Og McLaren saw the Belfast boys lead by 3-4 to 2-2, the Ballycastle goals coming from Conor Mooney and Darragh Donnelly.
After the change of ends Ballycastle drew level with a point from Conor Donnelly and a goal from corner forward Ruairi McShane. St Paul’s went back ahead but when Conor Donnelly got his team’s fourth goal there was no looking back. Donnelly hit another goal soon afterwards and added six more points before the end, while Niall McClean, Matthew Donnelly, Caden Crawford, Adam Hughes also fired over points to stretch the lead even further. Darragh Donnelly grabbed his team’s fifth goal and though St Paul’s came back with a goal from Nathan O’Neill, it was too late to make any significant difference on the scoreboard.
