Danske Bank Foresters Cup
Cross & Passion College 7-19 St Mary’s CBGS 2-9
A strong second half saw Cross & Passion get the better of St Mary’s in Monday’s Foresters Shield semi-final at Allen Park in Antrim. There was little to choose between the teams in the opening 30 minutes, at the end of which CPC led by 1-9 to 1-5. However after the break the Ballycastle boys got on top and pulled away to win convincingly to secure a place in the final against the winners of tomorrow’s other semi-final between Knock and Gaelcholáiste Dhoire.
CPC took an early lead when left half forward Conan Johnston found the St Mary’s net, but the Belfast boys came back with a goal of their own through centre forward Brendan McMorrow, but CPC pushed on to lead by four at the interval. (1-9 to 1-5)
St Mary’s hit back early in the second half and drew level and it looked it could go either way. However with Oisin McCallin and Cadhan Crawford leading the way CPC began to gain the upper hand.
With both Crawford and McCallin adding two goals each and substitute Dan Henry chipping in with one. The points began to flow as well with MCallin adding seven, corner forward Logan McConville four and Cadhan Crawford three and Conor Anderson two.
