Shane Mulholland Hurling Cup
Cross & Passion Ballycastle won the Friday’s Shane Mulholland Hurling tournament at St Louis Ballymena, beating St Killian’s Garron Tower in the final. The Ballycastle school, who have an exceptional pool of talent, beat the hosts St Louis, St Mary’s and St Killian’s in the round robin section, which did not have St Pat’s Maghera this year because of a clash with their school sports.
Maria Mulholland, mother of of late Shane, presents the Player of the Tournament award to Tom Richmond of CPC, while Dylan Hand – McCallin of St Mary’s and Cillian Gillespie of St Louis Grammar School received the Shield Players of the Tournament award. Maria also presented the Shane Mulholland Memorial Cup to John Og Darragh captain of CPC while joint St Mary’s captains, Dylan Hand McCallin and Eoghan Herron, receied the Shield.
The win completes a fantastic year for the Ballycastle school at this age group, as they completed the Thomson Cup, Gaelfast Year 9 and Luke Mulholland Cup treble.
