Second win of the season for All Saints

78

ACHL Division 4

St Agnes 0-13  All Saints 2-16

All Saints travelled to Belfast looking for their second win of the season after suffering a few heavy defeats in their two previous games. Despite still missing a few more experienced players a youthful All Saints side started well and raced into an early lead through points from Ciaran Neeson and Padhraig Magill. Aggies battled hard but found scores harder to come by but managed to rattle of a few long range scores. Damian Gillan, Luke O’Rawe, Neeson and Magill all added scores before a long ball into the square was flicked to the net by Magill for his first goal of the game. Despite some wayward shooting the away side led 1-8 to 0-6 at half time.

The second half continued in the same fashion as All Saints picked off some nice scores but the Aggies kept the scoreboard ticking over at the other end. Eoin McGuigan hit a nice point and immediately after Padhraig Magill sent a shot to the roof of the net to give the Saints a bit of breathing space. Aggies went in search of the goal they needed but All Saints keeper Ciaran Cassley and full back Chris McAfee were solid. Further scores from Gillan and Neeson sealed a good but frustrating win for the Saints.
