The Saffron Business Forum held their first Business Breakfast since the outbreak of Covid 19 when over 50 businesses were represented at Friday morning’s event at the Malone Hotel, Belfast.
The breakfast wes hosted by MCE’s Paul McErlean who interviewed chief guest Ashleen Feeny, parnter in KPMG who gave a very insightful interview charting her path from her days at primary school in Slaughtmanus, Co Derry, through Dominican College in Portstewart, Thornhill College, Derry, to QUB Belfast and through her subsequent career path to date.

Special guests were Antrim Camogie Board chairman Vincent Boyle and vice-chairpreson Imelda McLeod, Antrim LGFA chairperson Shauna Adams and treasuer Anthony Carleton. Both bodies thanked the Saffron Business Forum for their donations of £3000 during their All Ireland Junior Football and All Ireland Intermediate Camogie campaigns, both of which ended in Croke Park finals, the LGFA team losing to Wicklow, while the Camogs were successul against Kilkenny.
Captains of the four codes in Antrim GAA were in attendance, Conor McCann for the hurlers, Peter Healey for the Senior footballers, Antrim LGFA vice-captain Grainne McLaughln and All Ireland Camogie winning captain Lucia McNaughton.

In fact the biggest cheer of the morning was reserved for Lucia, who gave a great interview about her team’s journey from losing to Down in last season’s Intermediate final, to last Sunday’s win over Kilkenny at Croke Park.
The Saffron Business Forum have raised over £400,000 for Antrim GAA since their foundation in October 2016. Their next big event is the annual Saffron Business Lunch in the Crown Plaza, Belfast on November 5th which will have former Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy and recently retired Tipperary start Brendan Maher as their special guests.
