North Antrim Feile na nGael B Final
All Saints 2-7 Naomh Eanna 0-2
A brilliant display by man of the match Aodhan McGarry steered All Saints to victory over Naomh Eanna in Sunday’s Feile B final in Cushendall. Playing at midfield McGarry controlled matters for the Ballymena boys, ending with a personal total of 1-6 after a commanding performance.
McGarry opened the scoring with a pointed free in the first minute but Naomh Eanna drew level three minutes later with a point from a Cian O’Connor free. McGarry edged All Saints back in front and his midfield partner Pearse Martin added another before centre forward Fintan Brady broke through to fire an unstoppable shot to the Naomh Eanna net and two more McGarry points had them 1-5 to 0-1 ahead at half time.
A goal from a penalty just two minutes into the second half by McGarry all but ended the Naomh Eanna hopes and though the Glengormley boys kept battling to the end they found it hard to make inroads against a sound All Saints defence for whom Kevin O’Boyle was superb at centre back. The excellent Cian O’Connor did manage to pull a point back for Naomh Eanna but McGarry had the final say with another pointed free to book his team a place in next Saturday’s county final against Rossa.
