Lamh Dhearg and Cargin make their U21 championship bow

Under-21 Football Fixtures (Wed 23rd-Sun 27th Oct)

The U21 Football championship takes a midweek slot tomorrow night when a number of teams who have not seen action owing to other commitments come on board for the first time.

Erin’s Own Cargin have been occupied in a senior championship final and then a replay before playing in Ulster last week but their defeat to Derrygonnelly Harps means that they have now a clear run at the U21 Championship and face St. Brigid’s at the Dub.

St. Brigid’s opened their account with a win at Creggan and looked useful but Cargin always field a competitive side at this age group and should provide the Musgrave Park side with another stiff test.

Lamh Dhearg found themselves in a similar position as they were involved in that championship final replay against Cargin and make their bow against old rivals, St. John’s at Woodlands at 8-15.

St. John’s had their first outing on Sunday morning and had 11 points to spare over St. Enda’s at Corrigan and will be keen to get another win under their belts tomorrow night which would secure them a place in the knockout stages.
