Goals in each half by Glenavy’s Dominic Gallagher and David Nelson were the vital scores as Glenavy beat Tir na nÓg in Friday evening’s Reserve Shield Group 1 game at Whitehill.
Gallagher’s goal came in the opening half and was the vital score as the visitors’ went in at the break leading by 1-5 to 0-6.
It remained close during the second period with David Nelson’s goal just shading it for the men from Chapel Hill who ended up winning by four on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-12.
