Cushendall: 3-16 Ballycastle: 0-7

Cushendall won the county Feile A title when they beat Ballycastle in the final of Tuesday’s blitz tournament at Pairc Mhuir, Cushendall.

The first half was fairly even with just three points separating the sides at the break (0-7 to 0-4) but after the change of ends Cushendall took complete control of the game and pulled away to win convincingly.

A goal from Thomas McLaughlin and points from Dara Higgins and Oran McCambridge gave Cushendall an early lead, but two points from Ballycastle centre back Daragh Donnelly cut the gap back to three.

Cahir McCambridge and Daragh Donnelly exchanged points to keep the gap at three and it stayed that way until half time.

Another Donnelly point within a minute of the restart left just two between the sides, but Cushendall came back with a goal from Cahir McCambridge and points from Oran McCambridge and Fintan Bradley.

Ballycastle pulled a point back but Cushendall were dominant at this stage and they reeled off the next ten scores through Fintan Bradley (0-3), Oran McCambride (2) and Thomas McLaughlin, before McLaughlin got his team’s third goal.
