Sarsfields 0-13 Carey Faughs 2-12

Carey had to come from two points in arrears at half time to keep their unbeaten run going in Division 2 when they travelled to the Bear Pit on Sunday to take on Sarsfields. The Paddies enjoyed the better of the first half exchanges and were worthy of their 0.10 to 0.8 advantage at the break with Gary Lennon claiming 6 points and Mark Rea, Antony McGarrigle and McKernan adding to the tally. Carey kept it touch with 2 points each from James “Rocket” Black and Conleth McKinley and points from Paddy Gillan, Caolan McCaughan, Michael McVeigh and Fiachra McVeigh.

The second half saw Carey taking control of proceedings with the Paddies only managing three points in that period. The turning point of the game was two stellar gaols from Caolan McCaughan, assisted by two points apiece from Paddy Gillan and James Black.
