Glenariffe 0-10 Rossa 3-20

Rossa kept up their unbeaten run in the minor hurling league with a comfortable 3-20 to 0-10 lead after its resumption following the exams break. Two early points from Tiernan Murphy were followed by a goal from their bustling centre forward Ryan ‘Bear’ O’Neill who broke through to give Oisins keeper McMullan no chance from closer range.

Daire Matthews added another point for the Belfast boys before Glenariffe opened their account with a Shane O’Connor free but Rossa hit back strongly with unanswered points from Tiernan Murphy, (2) and Daire Matthews. During the second quarter the homes die did much better and point from Michael O’Boyle, Shane O’Connor and Michael McConachie in reply to two by Rossa’s Tiernan Murphy left the half times core Rossa 1-11 Glenariffe 0-4

Matthews increased the visitors lead early in the second half and Ryan O’Neill opened the gap even further when he blasted a ground shot to the net after Oisins keeper Daniel McMullan had done well to stop the initial shot by Tiernan Murphy. Glenariffe then had their best spell of the game as Michael O’Boyle hit four points in seven minutes with just one reply from Rossa through top scorer Tiernan Murphy. McGreavey, Murphy and Owen May came back with points and though O’Boyle hit two more for the Oisins a strong finish which brough a Conor O’Neill goal and and a Tiernan Murphy point wrapped it all up for the visitors
