Dunloy 7-7 Loughgiel 3-7

When the Dunloy players awoke on Friday morning the Under 16 Camogie final at Feis na nGleann was probably the last thing on their minds, after being beaten by Loughgiel in the early rounds of the competition. However because of Bridini Oga’s failure to fulfil the fixture the young Cuchullains were called in at the eleventh hour and at 7-45 on Friday evening they left Healy Park with the silverware after scoring an impressive win over a somewhat understrength Shamrocks side.

The first half was close and competitive goals from Caitlin Crawford, Tiersa Smith and Kyra Doherty helped Dunloy run up three goals and two points, but Roisin McCormick was in flying form for the Shamrocks as he hit most of her team’s first half total of 2-5 to leave the sides deadlocked at the break on 3-2 to 2-5.
