Meath 0-3 Antrim 3-17

Antrim got back to winning ways in their All Ireland Under 16 B Camogie Championship when they overcame Meath in their third Round-Robin game at Ashbourne. The Saffron girls started brightly and after a dominant first half were 1.06 to 0.01 at the short whistle, the goal coming courtesy of centre forward Aoife O’Mullan. In the second period the visiting Antrim team pegged the home side into their own half and tagged on 2.11 while only conceding two scores both from placed balls. Antrim’s green flags were raised by Creggans Mya Quinn and Ahoghills Aine Graham. The visitors defence was immense all day with good disciplined tackling being the major feature. Going forward Antrim had seven different scorers. Next up in the championship for this young saffron team is a home fixture against neighbours Derry on Sunday 30th July.
