Sowing seeds for the future at Loch Mór Dál gCais as young players Donal Morgan, Cillian Baker and Fionnuala Baker step out on the new area which is to become a training pitch

Loch Mór Dál gCais CLG have announced transformation plans for land adjacent to Ionad Teaghlaigh Ghleann Darach, Crumlin.

The land has been secured by the Club on a long-term lease and with the help of £50k grant funding from the Alpha Programme, the site will be developed over the coming months for the purposes of a training location for all of their teams and a playing location for their junior age groups.

Since the formation of the club in 2013 it has grown to the point where around 400 young people from the Crumlin, Glenavy, Antrim and Lisburn areas now participate in Hurling and Camogie.  Over the past number of years, the Club has faced challenges and logistical issues in securing training facilities for all its teams and this now delivers a base to locate its junior age groups.

This progress is part of the Dál Cassian’s five year development strategy and is a monumental point in the Club’s young history.  The facility will be ready for use in early 2018 and in addition to training and playing will also be used for our Family Days and Special Events going forward.
