Local celeb Charlie Brogan visits St Joseph’s PS pupils as the build up to Sunday’s final gathers pace

Local singer Charlie Brogan who has penned a song for his Dunloy Cuchullains ahead of Sunday’s showdown with Cushendall visited St Jospeh’s Primary School  on Friday and backed by local musicians he got the pupils to join in the chorus of his latest hit “We’re the team”. Some of us have to do some tough things through our work but for St Joseph’s teacher Mrs Donnelly today’s task was almost a step too far. Mrs Donnelly is of course a Loughgiel native steeped in the love of hurling and sister of some famous former Shamrocks Eoin, Colm and Aidan McCloskey, all of whom wore the red jersey of Loughgiel with some distinction. Her task this week was hard to take as not only had she to sing the new Cuchullains anthem but she also had to print out the words and teach all the pupils in the school how to sing it. She did a very good job it has to be said and the children really enjoyed the day and the visit of local celeb Charlie Brogan whose performance of the song has been a Facebook senstation with almost 10,000 views so far.
