Black Bull South West U16 Hurling Semi-Final

A first minute free by Morgan Nelson and a 5th minute point from Lee Johnston seemed to put St Oclan’s on a firm footing as they took on Tir Na nOg in the Black Bull South West U16 semi-final at Whitehill on Sunday morning. That was as good as it got however as the Tir-na-nÓg lads steadily got into their stride and an outstanding individual point in the 7th minute and 3 successive frees (11th, 13th + 20th minutes) by Eammon Óg McAllister set the home team on a positive footing. A Kevin Brady Goal and two more point by Eammon Óg in the 27th and 28th minutes combined with a Ethan Higgin’s point one minute from the interval saw the home team going in with a 1-06 to 0-03 lead at half time.
The restart saw the whitehill men add a further 2 points by Conor O’Rawe and the ever impressive Eammon Óg McAllister, Lee Johnston replied for St Oclan’s with a fine individual point. A Justinus Venckus goal and two more points form McAllister secured victory for the Tir-na-nÓg. Morgan Nelson added a fine goal (20 meter free) for the visitors midway through the second half but further points by Justinus Venckus, Kevin Brady, Ciarán O’Neill and Ethan Higgins combined with a Brian Fitzgerald goal saw the Tit-na-nÓg men seal a 3-15 to 1-03 win.
Ricardo Cozcapy, Adam Reid, Ciaran O’Neill, Brandon McLarnon Kevin Brady and Conor McCamphill with a man of the match performance by Eammon Óg McAllsier led the way for Tir-na-nÓg while Lee Johnston and Morgan Nelson were best for St. Oclan’s.
Tir-na-nÓg now meet St. Enda’s in the decider after the Glengormley side defeated Clooney Gaels in the other semi-final in Ahoghill.
