Fenton a fine ambassador for the GAA as St Paul’s open new 4G pitch

3Dublin football star Brian Fenton was a brilliant ambassador for his club, county and the GAA at Saturday’s opening opening of the new St Paul’s 4G pitch and terracing at Shaw’s Road. The big Raheny clubman had attended the All Star dinner in Dublin the previous night but still took time out of his busy schedule to spend time with the Gaels of St Paul’s where he cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the new facilities and then took the a group of young boys and girls for a training session on the new 4G pitch.

Club Chairman Ciaran Cooper introduced a few speakers before the official opening including Chairman of Sport NI George Lucas (main funders of the project), Ulster GAA President Michael Hasson and St Paul’s PP Fr Brankin. After the cutting of the ribbon by Brian Fenton and the training session with young members of the club everyone retired to the clubrooms for refreshments and to make the draw for the 2017 Ulster Minor Club Football tournament.
