Enniskillen Gaels 2-9 St Eunan’s Letterkenny 1-9
Enniskillen Gaels booked their place in the final of the fonaCAB Ulster Minor Football Tournament at St Pauls today when they beat Donegal champions St Eunan’s Letterkenny in Saturday’s semi-final at Shaw’s Road. The Fermanagh boys were impressive as they saw off the dogged challenge of St Eunan’s and after leading at half time by two points (1-5 to 0-6) they appeared to have taken control of the game when they grabbed their second goal just two minutes into the second half, but St Eunan’s responded with one of their own less than a minute later and their never say die attitude kept them very much in touch. The gap was down to a point with just ten minutes to go but three excellent points from Callum Jones, Ronan Beattie and Eoin Beacom in reply to just one from St Eunan’s gave them a well deserved victory.
The Fermanagh side, are competing in the competition for the third year in a row, will face the winners of the Boxing Day semi-final between Derry champions Ballinascreen and Antrim champions Rossa. The final is fixed for New Year’s day.
