fonaCAB Ulster Minor Football Tournament at St Paul’s
Tomorrow’s final at St Paul’s promises to be a cracking contest with two top class teams Enniskillen Gaels of Fermanagh and Ballinascreen of Derry battling it out to hold the title of Ulster Champions. Both teams have impressed on their way to the New Year’s Day decider with Enniskillen accounting for Ramor Utd of Cavan in their quarter final and Antrim champions Rossa in the semi-final on Boxing Day.
This great tournament has been going for more than three and a half decades and during that time it has thrown up many players who have gone on to be stars of the game both for club and county. Tomorrow’s finalists have the potential to catapult some great talent towards the top. Enniskillen Gaels captain Eoin Beacom and right half forward Callum Jones are two young men who on the evidence of what we have seen throughout December are two stars in the making while in the Ballinascreen side Reece McSorley, Aaron Bradley and Noel Rafferty have the potential to go right to the top. However these are only a few names among two top class teams and tomorrow someone else could write their names in the history books with a stand out performance.
It should be a game of high quality with two attack minded teams so get yourself along to Shaw’s Road for the 1-30 throw-in and enjoy the show.
