Carryduff 3-9  Cushendun 0-14

Cushendun journeyed to Co Down on Sunday to take on Carryduff and though they performed quite well they came away pointless after a 0-14 to 3-9 defeat. It was the goals that proved the killer for the Emmets as the home side found the Cushendun three times in the opening half, the first one coming in the seventh minute, the second on twenty and the real killer blow coming just a minute before half time.IMG_3146Cushendun’s Conor McHugh

Carryduff had dominated the opening twenty minutes and were 2-5 to 0-2 ahead, but the Emmets appeared to be getting back into the game when they hit five unanswered points through Matthew Kilgore, Matthew McCartin, D McKeegan, Dominic Mc`Quillan and Conor McNeill to bring themselves back into contention, but Carryduff undid a lot of Cushendun’s good work when they grabbed their third goal of the game.

During the second half the visitors had the upper hand and outscored Carryduff by 7 points to 4, but the damage had already been done and they must look to their home game on Sunday next to get their league campaign up and running.
