Ardoyne Kickhams’ under-14 footballers were given a boost this week when Centra Cliftonville Road provided a new kit to the young Gaels ahead of their South Antrim championship campaign.
With the league drawing to a close over the next few weeks, thoughts now turn to championship football and the young Kickhams will ply their trade in a new kit supplied by their local Centra store when they face Gort na Mona in the Fr Mullan Shield opener on Tuesday 25 September.
“The support that Centra give to the GAA is well known at a national level with their sponsorship of the All-Ireland senior hurling championship but as we can see from this sponsorship from the Cliftonville store, they also support the grass roots as well,” said Ardoyne Kickhams mentor Conor Barnes.
“All clubs face challenges in raising funds to meet the needs of their young people and this new kit is gratefully received in that regard. On behalf of the club I would like to thank Centra Cliftonville for their support.”
Joe Petticrew, manager of Centra Cliftonville Road, presented the kit to the young Kickhams at a training session this week.
“Centra is delighted to support Ardoyne Kickhams under-14s this year. With the shop being right beside the Cliftonville GAA pitch, I can see first-hand the great work that the club coaches do with the young people of the area on a daily basis,” said Joe.
“I wish the Under-14s well in the future and hope that the Centra brand brings them some luck in their forthcoming championship.”
