Better late than never
Due to a technical error this failed to post a couple of weeks ago so here it is now
Armoy beat neighbours Ballycastle in the Final of the Junior Shield in a game played in Armoy. If the last two meetings between where anything to go by we knew it was going to be a good one.
Both teams lined out and the ball was thrown in, with both teams determined not to let the other team get the first score on the board with some great tackling, but it was the home side that opened the scoring, and with a lot of missed chances from the home side the damaged could of been alot worse for the visitors in the first 10/15minutes.
However Ballycastle didn’t stop battling and were rewarded with a few scores of their own. Both teams continued to show that they wanted the win, but with some excellent play and team work the home side piled on the pressure and took some excellent scores to see them go in at the short whistle Armoy 2-6 Ballycastle 0-3.
On the restart Ballycastle showed that they weren’t goin to give up easy and put the Armoy defence under pressure, however the home side’s defence was on point and kept the visitors to a single point in the second half. Armoy started where they left off with the excellent passing, team work and score taking adding another 2-3 to their first half tally and to finish the match winners on a score line of Armoy 4-9 Ballycastle 0-4.
A big Thank you to Ding, Arthur and Arthur junior for all the hard work use have put in with the girls this year.
