McCavana is new county chairman

Congratulations to new county chairman Ciarán McCavana who tonight was elected Antrim County Chairman at the County Convention in the Dunsilly Hotel. The St Enda’s clubman beat off the challenge of outgoing North Antrim chairman Owen Elliott and former county vice-chairman Joe Edwards. It has been a whirlwind48 hours for McCavana after watching his club Naomh Eanna win the Ulster Intermediate Football title on Saturday night in Armagh.

CRLS5264The other big news was that Neil Peden was ratified as county hurling manager. The St John’s clubman was part of the management set up last year and he and fellow selector Gary O’Kane form part of the new team along with Jim Close of Rossa, Karl McKeegan of Cushedendall with former Clare star Anthony Daly acting as advisor
