St Jospeh’s Dunloy win Cumann na mBunscol camogie title

St Jospeph’s Dunloy A were the winners of today’s North Antrim Cumann na mBunscol Indoor Camogie championship at Cross & Passion College Ballycastle, clinching the title with and emphatic final win over St Patrick’s & St Brigid’s Ballycastle.

The event, which was expertly organised by students at CPC was a great success with four schools from North Antrim are (St Patrick’s & St Brigid’s Ballycastle, St Joseph’s Dunloy, St Patrick’s Loughgiel and St Mary’s Cushendall) fielding two teams each.

The Dunloy A team showed from early on that they were serious conteners as they won their games convincingly and with St Patrick & St Brigd’s also showing good form it was clear the two were on course to meet in the final. In their penultimate game St Patrick’s & St Brigid’s came up against St Patrick’s Loughgiel who showed they were still contenders, despite losing out to Dunloy in the early rounds. In a great battle they shared the points with the Ballycastle girls with a 2-2 draw, but in the final there was not stopping the Dunloy school who displayed great skill to clinch the trophy.

Player of the tournament went to Eva McAllister from the winning St Joseph’s side
