Last night , Katie Bonnes, All Ireland Scór na nÓg Champion returned home to Tír na nÓg. What an occasion it was! She was joined by her family, friends and fellow All Ireland Scór Champions from Aghagallon.
Club chairperson, Dearbhail McParland welcomed the packed crowd to the special occasion and said how proud she was to welcome an All Ireland Champion back to the club.
Her winning recitation was “The Child I did not know” by Patsy O’Hagan. It was lovely for Patsy O’Hagan to be there last night to welcome Katie home and to congratulate her. He even entertained the crowd with some great stories.

Katie then performed her winning piece , accompanied by Cillian Darragh on flute. As always, she was absolutely amazing and left the crowd amazed by her talent. Aghagallon were then invited to dance and perform their winning Leiriu. Scór is all about making friends and supporting other clubs. It was special for all three All Ireland Champions to be together.
Katie was also joined by Southwest Chairman Jim McGrath, Paula Magee-Ulster Scór Chairperson, Danny McLernon- outgoing Ulster Scór Secretary and County Cultural Officer Bronagh Lennon.
An All Ireland win is extremely special for any club but for a club to win an All Ireland in their centenary year is extra special. Katie’s family are one of the few families who are 5th generation Tír na nÓg and have been members of the club for the last 100 years. They are extremely proud of her accomplishments and we have no doubt that this is the first of many successes.
