Feile Shield First Round

Tir na nOg 2-2 Moneyglass 10-4

A large crowd turned out to watch this Feile clash between neighbours Tir na nOg and Moneyglass in wintry conditions at Randalstown today.

Moneyglass came out of the blocks fast with goals from Senan O’Boyle and  Tiernan McCormick. Tir na nOg struggled to get the ball out of defence against a very strong breeze and Moneyglass punished them with more goals from centre forward McCormick   and O’Boyle at full forward. At half Moneyglass lead 7.02 to 1.00 and already looked to have gained a place in the next round.

Tir na nOg came out with renewed vigour in the second half and scored a goal from Paul McCloskey but Moneyglass weathered the storm and hit back with goals from centre half Paul Duffin, Ewan McGrath and Tadgh McAteer running out comfortable winners 10-4 to 2-2

Best for Moneyglass were Paul Duffin and Sean Boyd in defence, Kevin McCann at midfield and Tiernan McCormick, Nate Dixon and Senan O’Boyle starring up front.

Tir na nOg’s best performers were Paul McCloskey in defence, Caolan Hughes at midfield and Sasha Young in attack.
