The All County under-age competitions are to commence next week at both minor and under-16 level.
New ground will be broken in the under-16 grade as previously completed on a regional basis before the top teams at completion played off to determine county champions, with the top two in South and South West proceeding to semi-finals and final.
The minor (U18) league has proceeded on an all county basis for several years and will continue in the same format for the 2019 season.
This competition will continue in Division One and Two basis as in the past.
Both the minor and under-16 competition will be divided with the former on an A and B format whilst the under-16 competition is divided into three sections, Division 1, 2A and 2B.
Although several familiar names, including clubs with a long successful tradition are missing from the lists from both minor and under-16 competition, the ‘sanction’ rule will work to ensure those interested will be offered places in other clubs’.
South Belfast based St Brigid’s are not struggling to make up the numbers it seems as they have entered two sides in the under-16 league.
