U14 2A Championship Semi Final
Ahoghill 9-8 All Saints 2-1
Ahoghill U14Camogs travelled to All Saints on Friday evening for the u14 Championship Semi Final. The visitors proved too strong for a battling All Saints side who will have benefited greatly from playing against a team of this quality.
The visitors got on the scoreboard First and notched up 2.05 unanswered but Ballymena got a great goal that dropped in from a free and got another point a few minutes before half time.
After the break Ahoghill fired in 2 goals in quick succession and the 5th goal game soon after and they continued to press on the home side .
Ballymena replied a 2nd goal and point as they continued to battle for every ball but that was to be their tally.
The Reds kept the scoreboard ticking over finishing with 9-08, one from a penalty.
The Referee gave a 2nd penalty to Ahoghill but the Ballymena defence stood firm, pulling off a brilliant save along with several others from their competent Keeper.
Ballymena threatened the Ahoghill goal several times but the visitors defence was superb.
St Mary’s now meet St Paul’s in the final since they defeated Lamh Dearg 6.01 to 3.01. The Final will be played Aug 31st
