Former Waterford manager and RTE pundit Derek McGrath was the guest of honour at Satruday night’s presentation dinner in Glenariffe Community Centre to honour the Under 16 and Under 14 teams who won a host of trophies this season. However their success in winning the McMullan Cup was the main highlight of the evening and to mark the occassion a couple of the team who won the first McMullan Cup back in 1966 were invited. One of them, Malachy Leech, who was goalkeeper on the 1966 side, actually brought along his McMullan Cup medal to show his former team mates.

Derek McGrath addressed the young players and their parents and highlighted the need for them to stay focused and work hard in both the hurling and academic careers so they can build on what has been achieved this season.
Overall a fun filled night for all involved and once again the Saffron Gael was there to capture a few snaps.
