Following a win over St. Paul’s on day one, Rossa had a comfortable win against Glenavy at Chapel Hill on Sunday. Fergal  Henry opened the scoring with a point for Glenavy after 2 minutes but that was the last time the home side were to hold the advantage. Rossa pressed high and took control of the game and had a 1-12 to 0-4 advantage at the break. The Rossa goal came from The Rossa captain of the day, Darren Grego.

The second half saw Rossa continue to dominate but Glenavy never gave up and were served well by Henry, Hamill and Heenan. The Glenavy net minder, Jake McCann, although conceding 4 goals, made 3 excellent saves, when facing one on one contests with the Rossa forwards.

Rossa were dominant throughout the pitch with Smyth, McGreevy, Murphy and Cooley strong in defence. McCashin hds a steady game at midfield and contributed a point. The Rossa forward line were well lead by McEnhill, McMenamin and Mallon but it was the two second half substitutes, Spud O’Neill and Mattie McIvor (2) that got the three second half goals.

It was great to see Gregory Walsh officiating the game.
