Antrim 1-15 Fermanagh 2-4

Antrim recorded their second win in two outings when they faced Fermanagh in the Ulster league at Dunsilly today. Fermanagh settled first and brought the game to Antrim with physicality and speed but despite having the majority of possession it was Antrim who opened the scoring through the impressive Connor Hastings before Fermanagh posted 2 scores on the board. However dogged defending from the home defence which was being superbly marshalled by Ciaran Maginnes and Cahir Donnelly kept the visitors shooting from range before Fintan O’ Boyle found space up the left wing to set up the live wire Diarmiud Rogan to ensure the sides went to halftime on level terms.

With the wind behind them Antrim began to impose their game on the opposition and some slick interplay between the forward division saw points fly over from Hastings ( 0-4 ) Rogan ( 0-3 ) and Jonny Hannon (0-2 ) to open up a big lead . With Padraig Gowdy and Pearse Murray now dominating midfield their industry set up Stephen Hughes for a decisive goal which signalled the end of the match as a contest.
