Minor Championship (round one)
By Geordie McGuckian
The opening round of the 2020 minor football championship is scheduled to commence on Saturday and as in the other grades such will be completed in the opening phase on a round robin basis.
Cargin did take the title last term and with most of that panel still available for selection the Toome side will be serious contenders but they face a tough test in the opening round as they take the road up to Crumlin to cross swords with Aldergrove.
St Brigid’s lost out to the Toome lads in last years decider and the South Belfast side who open their campaign against combination side Corpus Christi Gaels, will be looking to go one better this term with Rossa, St Gall’s, Sarsfield’s, Tir na Nog, and Aghagallon possible contenders.
