Senior Reserve Football Shield
Con Magees 0-8 All Saints 4-11
All Saints all but secured second spot in Group 1 of the Senior Reserve Football Shield when they beat Con Magees Glenravel by 4-11 to 0-8 at Fr Maginn Park on Friday evening. The Ballymena side played some great football and gave an exhibition of score taking which even the infamous Maginn Park midges, (and they were there in their tens of thousands), could not disrupt.

Glenravel had plenty of possession during the opening quarter but their shooting was as brutal as the midges and by the end of the first half they had just two points on the board, and eight wides. All Saints on the other hand finding the target with ease by the half time whistle had 3-7 on the board, the goals coming from Oisin Connolly, who drilled the ball low to the Con Magees net in the third minute and substitute Ciaran Ferris, who grabbed two inside a minute just before the half time interval.

Oisin Connolly and Aidan Scullion increased the All Saints lead just after half time and after Glenravel pulled one back through Joe Sharkey they hit their fourth goal of the game as they went on to lead by 4-11 to 0-5 at the second half water break. At this stage the midges must have worn the visitors down as they failed to raise another flag during the final quarter while the home side found the target three times before the blessed relief of Richard Leahy’s full time whistle.
