Tir na nOg 2-2 Glenariffe Oisins 6-8

Glenariffe Oisins booked their place in the semi-final of the Antrim Ladies Junior B Football Championship when they beat Tir na nÓg in Wednesday evening’s quarter final at Whitehill.

Leah Cosgrove and Niamh O’Neill gave the Oisins an early lead before Cara Bones pulled one back for Tir na nÓg. However for the remainder of the opening half it was all Glenariffe and boosted by goals from Niamh O’Neill, her twin sister Tara, who got two, and Megan O’Loughghlin they went on to lead by 4-4 to 0-2 at half time.

Niamh McKinley pulled a goal back for the home side just after the break but Niamh O’Neill and Maeve McKendry replied with points. When Aoife McCann got Tir na nÓg’s second goal  just before the second half water break there was some hope for the Randalstown girls but within thirty seconds Tara O’Neill had the ball in the net at the other end of the field. O’Neill was to add a further 2-2 before the end of the game as the Oisins eased their way through to the semi-finals.
